Duplication: Can you do reprints at these prices? Yes! If you have an existing title, we might be able to save you significant money by transferring the project to one of our plants. Can you run less than 1000 CDs? We can broker any quantity you want but, generally, 1000 units is the minimum. Initial orders under 1000 units will incur glass mastering charges and short-run fees that, usually, end up costing more than the 1000 units. We can, however, save you a little money, if necessary, by only packaging a portion of your CDs. The remainder will be sent to you on spindles and you'll only be charged the bulk cd price for those. Can you run CD Business Cards? Yes. Contact us about ANY shapes for your CDs. Do you broker Cassettes? Yes. Let us know the number of fold-outs for the J-Card, and the length of the longest side of music, and we'll get you a great quote. How long does it take to get CDs? That depends somewhat on how fast you need them and whether or not the other pieces are finished. CD Duplication usually only takes 7-10 business days. However, if there are corrections to the proofs, or the print isn't ready, and there's a holiday....well, you get the idea. Generally, we can get finished CDs, from your finished films and masters, in about 3 weeks. In addition, you can always upgrade your shipping to receive at least some of your cds faster. (We do not mark up shipping costs; you pay whatever UPS, FedEx, etc., charges.) Finally, most of our printers will rush your printing for an additional fee. What about quantity discounts? Of course! Order 2500 CDs and we can save you a LOT of money; need 5000 or 10000 units? Those are even cheaper! What about short-run CDRs? We don't handle short-run CDRs. However, we know a couple of great companies that do and will be happy to help you contact them. - top -
Printing and Films: Do you offer different printing services? Our printers can handle anything you need. We can do die-cut boxes, posters, DVD Covers (which make great promotional folders, by the way), CD Sleeves, CD Mailers, Poster Folders, Foam CD Packaging, Business Card CD Holders, Sofware Boxes, Clamshell Inserts, and any size CD or Cassette Cover. How long does it take to get the print? Our printer guarantees 5-business-day turnaround from your approval of proofs. Since they usually provide your pdf proofs within 24 hours (it depends on the time of day they receive the original files...and it assumes the files are formatted correctly) that means, if they get your films on Monday, the finished print wil usually go out the following Tuesday or Wednesday. That's fast! How long does it take to get the proofs? Proofs usually take 24 - 48 hours, depending on the proofing process. Which brings us to... What kind of proofs do you recommend? All our pricing is based on pdf proofs. However, should you absolutely need hard proofs, we can arrange that as well. When you place your order, we can go over the options. Hard proofs will add a little bit of expense to your project, in addition to the overnight postage fees to get them to you. What if I want a larger CD Folder or a stapled CD Booklet? We can print CD Folders from 2 to 12 panels and stapled CD Booklets up to 32 pages. What about other printing? Our printers can handle everything, quite often for less than even the "discount" printers you find online. Let us know what you're looking for and we'll get you a price. - top -
Prices: How accurate are the prices on this web site? They're pretty close...obviously, particularly in an industry where much of the product is petroleum based, things can move around a bit. Generally, the prices on these pages will give you a good idea of what you're going to pay...not including the final shipping costs. What do you charge for Design and/or Layout? We're not trying to be coy but each project is very different. Sometimes there's extensive photo retouching to do and that takes a lot of time; sometimes someone just wants us to make sure the film layout is correct. Contact us and let us take a look at the project...we'll try to work within your budget. What other expenses can I expect? Again, that depends somewhat on your immediate needs. If you're trying to rush a project through, you might have to "overnight" print or CDs. That can add some significant cost to your project. (Again, we do not mark up shipping and all of our manufacturers get the lowest rates available.) Also, most of our sample pricing is for 3-colors on the disc; you can have up to 5-colors on your discs but will need an extra $20 film for each addition color. (On the East Coast, there's also a $20 set-up fee...sorry 'bout that.) When we price out your project, we will be as specific as possible. - top -
Policies: Shipping Quite often we can help to save you money, and perhaps move your project a bit faster, if you handle some of the smaller details like mailing the master to the manufacturer or ftp the files to the printer. For that reason, we have not included shipping or postage in our web-site estimates. However, when the time comes to send out your project, you are billed for actual shipping only; we do not mark up these charges. What do I supply, what does NWDiscs supply? Each project is different. You might want us to take your concept and deliver a finished product, or you might have finished print and a master and just want us to broker the CDs. We can do a little; we can do a lot...it's up to you. Will I receive my CDs on time? That depends on what you consider "on time." There are certain realities; proofs might take a day or two, print takes 5 business days, manufacturing takes 7 - 10 business days, sending hard proofs, if you want them, takes time, shipping finished print takes time, shipping finished CDs takes time. If you're starting from scratch and want finished CDs in two weeks, maybe we can't help you. If you're trying to rush a job through in late-October, whan all CD duplicators swamped with jobs, you might run into a delay or two. Be assured, however, that we won't lie to you just to get your business. We will look at your project and give you a realistic idea of when it will be finished. - top -
Payment: Do you require a deposit? Once we begin working on your project, we will require some sort of deposit. The amount will depend on the amount of work we're doing and the size of the project. If all we're going is brokering posters, the deposit will be less than if we're brokering 50,000 CDs. Do you take credit cards? We can take Visa or Mastercard but the prices we quote are for a Cash Discount of 3%. If you want to use your credit card, we can't offer the cash discount. When is payment due? Again, this depends somewhat on the project. For huge jobs, we might need some payment as various portions of the job are complete, i.e., when the print has been shipped. This is because we like to pay our suppliers right away. For standard cd projects, we usually will invoice you around the time you receive your cds; we ask for payment within 7 days from invoicing. - top -
