Templates and Die Lines

  • We will supply you with the correct template/die line for any product you order.
  • You can also get them online on the templates page.
  • Files MUST be set up EXACTLY to the precise measurements specified.

Tips to keeping costs and turn-around times down

  • Create files in programs we support.
  • Create files for output on pages that reflect the finished trim size.
  • Extend all bleeds 1/8" beyond the trim line.
  • Scanned photos no bigger than:
    - 300 ppi at 100% for 150 line screen
    - 350 ppi at 100% for 175 line screen
  • Convert all color photos to CMYK for 4-color jobs.
  • Set all traps.
  • Set up multi-page documents into printer spreads.

Although pre-press is ideally a process of creating exactly reproducible results, our recent experience with some graphics software has mandated a re-examination of our policies. Specifically, files created in Corel Draw, Adobe Framemaker, Adobe Illustrator 9 and Microsoft Software do not yield consistently reproducible results. Consequently, files submitted to us created in these programs will incur additional charges at the rate of $100.00 per hour to modify original files into consistency reproducible files.

  • Include your name and phone number on your disk.
  • Provide all linked high resolution files. We cannot manipulate embedded images.
  • Include both the printer and screen fonts for every font used in your file.
  • Submit a hard copy of your file from the disk we will be using. If you output your file through another computer, this process will reveal any missing fonts or graphics, ect. If a proof is not enclosed, we will output a laser or ink jet proof and return to you for approval before preparing your project for print. Please include a directory listing with proofs.
  • Define all color as either Spot or CMYK as per your printing specs. Delete all un-used colors in your file.

  • Convert all RGB files to CMYK. If conversion is necessary, you may see a significant color shift and may require additional proofs and color correction. This will result in additional charges and time delays for your job.
  • Submit both layered and formatted CMYK Photoshop files. Do not flatten templates or dielines within your files.
  • If you modify our templates, let your sales representative know. There may be additional charges for custom steel rule dies.
  • Include all crop and registration marks colored "registration".
  • When e-mailing your files please refer to your job number in he subject heading.
